So, I interviewed three or four places. Why did I pick Kyle and Footprints? One place, who was supplied by my condo's management company, said the floors were too old to be sanded and stained. I got a good price form someone else but it did not include staining. When Kyle came, the tipping points for me were (a) I liked him (b) he gave me a pamphlet of stains and showed me the most popular ones per real estate agents (c) he said the floors were old but could take one more sanding and stain. That to me showed knowledge, expertise, and consideration of my ultimate goal - selling the place. And, they did a great job.

Kyle and his team were absolutely fantastic. They worked with us on a tight timeline to level the floors in the back rooms and put in all new wood floors throughout our unit. It was a big job, and they were straightforward about the work, respectful of our time and space, extremely easy to communicate with, and very kind as well. Our new floors look and feel incredible - we’re so happy with the work they did. Would work with them again without hesitation!

Before speaking to Kyle at Footprints I thought it was important for me to speak directly with a subcontractor who would personally be performing the floor installation themselves. In doing so it wasn’t clear that these other contractors really heard or would ultimately act on what I was saying, or whether they really cared, often hearing the common refrain “no problem.” Kyle was very effective at listening to and addressing my concerns throughout the entire process and then successfully passing the information and my concerns on to Rudy and Riamundo who followed through on those details during the installation. Effective communication, listening, understanding and follow through are paramount qualities, abilities and skills to possess and employ in order to translate the many details of the job into a quality, thorough execution of the installation. These qualities are not always easily found. I was out of town for much of the process and had to handle details remotely, by phone and text, making these qualities all the more important to my circumstance. Kyle and Footprints was extremely responsive to my phone calls, texts, concerns and needs and they made themselves available in a very validating, accommodating and prompt manner, directly addressing my concerns with excellent listening, communication and follow through skills that turned my vision into a fabulous result. Kyle will answer all of your questions; respond promptly, clearly, honestly, and concisely. He listens and follows through on the detailed execution. He will allow you to be as involved in the process as much as you care to be or take on matters independently. He stands behind his work and will not disappear. At least that was my positive experience. There exists the art and skill and craftsmanship of a Quality Installation as much as there exists the art and skill and relationship skills of Quality Customer Service. Kyle Battles and Footprints possess both. Many Thumbs Up !!!

We recently had our hardwood floors refinished and Kyle and his team did a WONDERFUL job! They were responsive, professional, clean, fair on pricing, and efficient. I had braced for a multi-day project, but to my delight the bulk of the work was completed in a single day. Our basement playroom has now been converted into a gym with a functional rubber floor, and we couldn't be happier with the result!

kyle did an awesome job from start to finish. his team did my floors while i was on vacation and out of the house. they moved my furniture and put it back where it was (added cost but worth it). he kept me updated through the whole process and my floors and stairs look amazing!! and the cost was very reasonable. highly recommend.

Footprints Floors Chicago (FFC) did an excellent job refinishing a bedroom, stair treads and landings. FFC also replaced damaged floor boards in our 1920s era house and expertly matched the existing pine floor boards. We were greatly appreciative of how easy it was to work with FFC as they scheduled our job around the scheduling needs of our family. FFC were timely, efficient and did a great job with minimizing the dust from a very messy job. We will call on FFC when we are ready to tackle our next flooring related project effort.

I had the pleasure of working with Kyle and Tomasz on a complete renovation of the tile in my guest bathroom. Even though I had to wait a few months to get the project started, Kyle was responsive and kept the quote the same. Once the project got started, Tomasz was the utmost professional! He worked day in and day out to get the job done in a week as promised, and I couldn't be happier with the finished product! My bathroom went from the 90s with Ikea fixtures to the beautiful modern traditional bathroom that fit my aesthetic. Footprints was great to work with. I replaced carpet with hardwood in 2 bedrooms. Kyle was a very no pressure salesperson. He came, took measurements and had an estimate back to me within an hour or so. No "if you sign now.." stuff. His pricing was below the competition. I got 6 estimates. They had materials available and I was less than a week from estimate to completion for 2 rooms of hardwood. The men who did the work were efficient and polite. They did a great job and cleaned up well after. The transition from the existing to the new floors is nearly imperceptable. Would definitely use again and would highly recommend.

From the first phone call to the finish of the project, everyone I worked with at Footprints Floors was highly professional. Kyle explained all the work in detail at the initial meeting, taking in my preferences, and making constructive suggestions. At each step of the floor sanding and refinishing Kyle consulted with me to make sure my preferences for color and finish coats were carried out. My 100 year old floors are restored to their original beauty, and I could not be more pleased with the outcome!

It was a pleasure working with Kyle and Tomasz on our recent home renovation project. They both worked with us on timelines and showed flexibility when the delivery company lost our tile (a pretty big set back). Both were communicative and friendly throughout. This is the second time that I have hired Kyle's team to install flooring and they did an amazing job. They enforced the subfloor carefully and completely fixed the squeaking noise of floors and stairs. They did an excellent job painting the stairs so that the color matches the floor. They are professional and able to answer any types of questions and do their best to take care of concerns of customers.

Kyle and his team did a beautiful job refinishing my hardwood floors. I got quotes from a few companies and Footprints was right on target with a fair price point. Kyle is easy to work with, straightforward, and I felt comfortable with him right away. I’m a first time homeowner on a steep learning curve and he was very patient answering my many questions, and with my nervousness choosing a stain color! I had a limited window of time to get the floors done before moving in and he was proactive to get the project on their schedule for the week it needed to happen, as I was coordinating the floors with another renovation project. I am so happy I chose this company! Kyle was fantastic to work with. I had a flood in my condo and needed flooring replaced. Kyle really worked to get my job scheduled as soon as possible since I was running out of temporary housing. They completed the job in four days and did amazing work. I had luxury vinyl plank installed and love it. I was so impressed because due to my situation I had all of my belongings still in my condo and they were able to move it around to take out and put new flooring in. They didn’t damage any of my property and cleaned up very well when the project was completed. I would highly recommend this company. The process was so easy from start to finish. I contacted Footprints Floors for my condo's floor replacement. It needed new subfloor consisting of sleeper strips and plywood, new flooring and baseboards. Footprints Floors were very easy to get a hold off, responsive and prompt. Kyle came to provide a free quote and he was very friendly. He provided an estimate quickly for a competitive pricing. My project was moving fast so, later, we had to change the initial scope and they provided that flexibility even though it became a smaller project. They started the project on time and did not stop until the project was completed. Floors needed leveling that was not anticipated and they leveled. They were very courteous and honored their initial agreed upon pricing. The team did a really good job from start to finish installing the 2x4s, plywood, click install engineered hardwood and baseboards. Their team is also very friendly, respectful and informed me of all the issues and resolved any that was revealed during the project.
