Shawna is the proud co-owner of Footprints Floors operating in Raleigh, North Carolina. Shawna joined Footprints after gaining more than 20 years of experience in community building through a career in local government service. Shawna brought this commitment to service with her when she began partnering with homeowners to help them bring their home improvement dreams to reality.
Shawna’s favorite flooring projects involve restoring wood floors to their full beauty and character. As Shawna said, “There’s so much rich history in and around Raleigh, it’s really inspiring to see these antique floors in so many homes and businesses. Sometimes the goal is to refresh those old floors to prepare for the next generation, and sometimes the goal is to preserve them so they can keep telling the stories of everything they’ve seen so far. Regardless, we want to make sure we’re listening to our customer partners to understand their goals and use industry best practices to help meet those goals.”
Keeping up with industry best practices includes maintaining her accreditation as a Certified Sales Advisor through the National Wood Flooring Association (NWFA). The continuing education she pursues through NWFA and other professional partnerships allows her to stay informed of new technologies and continuing best practices in the flooring industry. Shawna also serves on the Advisory Council to Footprints Floors operations across the country and is a member of the Raleigh LGBT+ Chamber of Commerce.
Shawna grew up in the Kansas City area, and still roots hard for her Chiefs, Royals, and Jayhawks. In her free time, she enjoys attending and cheering on the NC Courage, visiting local breweries, taking a day trip to the beach, or walking through the beautiful parks and tree lined streets that help make the Triangle such a beautiful place to live.
